Our History
First Covenant Church has changed a lot over the years. We are no longer known as Swedish Mission Church, which began as a group of Swedish Immigrants, known as “Mission Friends”, that started meeting in various homes in May 1881. Following this initial meeting, a number of ministers made occasional visits to Youngstown preaching the Word of God to the Swedish people, before calling a special meeting on June 26, 1886.
